Broga BBQ fish

After visiting the temple, we go for lunch. Someone in the hiking group proposed a place to eat BBQ fish. I can tell you that you won't be able to find the place if you are not familiar with this area.
The restaurant was built next to the fish pond where they raise their fish stock - Tilapia or "非洲鱼" in Chinese.
Here is the menu, all kind of flavors you can picked. Personally, I love their fish cooked with Asam, House Sauce. The curry mutton taste ok too. However, the Xiu Heng wine flavored chicken is not so good...

Here is the open kitchen

All the fishes, 'fresh from the ponds' are wrapped with aluminum foil together with sauces.

Ok, here is the biggest turn off! While I was at the temple, someone commented that the sugarcane water is kinda cheap, only Rm1! So I went to get one... after I made my purchase, I regretted. The reason? Damn! I think the seller is reusing the mineral water bottle to store the sugarcane juice! I do respect that they are actually saving the world's resource by recycling stuff! But isn't that too unhygenic?! May be that happens in small town only.
Now... do click and enlarge the photo, did you find anything abnormal? Try to check out the straw! WTH?! Don't tell me they are 'reusing' the straws?! Or don't tell me when they print the straws, it ran out of ink!
Anyway, my friend in packaging industry told me that some seller did buy the rejected quality product which is cheaper. So the straw could be new, just that the quality doesn't meet the standard. Gee.... come on! How much is the new straws cost?
Here is our food.... we have to fight with all the flies when the fish arrived...

The tilapia was cleaned nicely by hungry people like us within half an hour. Frankly speaking, the food was great despite the place is not very hygene, can you imagine I manage to take down 2 flies with a chopstick? Lot of flies + possible reused straws. Other than that, no complain. After we divided the bill for 9 person on the same table, it is only Rm15 per person! 4 fishes, 1 chicken, 1 curry mutton, and each person got their own canned or bottled drink! Another thing I want to point out, there is no mud smell from all the tilapia fishes.

The Legend of “石拿督" (The Rock God?)

Entrance to the temple

The entrance to the Rock God's

The gate of the Dragon.

Journey to the West?...

Some crazy people trying to write their favourite '4d numbers' on temple's property.

There is one famous temple somewhere near Broga. It was called “石拿督" temple. One of the legends about this god is during the Japanese occupation at Malaya during World War II. All the people in the village were asked to gather in a school. Initially, the soldiers plan to massacre all the poor villagers who gathered in the school.

Right before the massacre begins, a Japanese officer came to the school just in time like a savior to all the villagers, he ordered all the soldiers to leave the village and not to harm any villagers. After the 'officer' left, some of the villagers believe that it was 'the Rock god' who sent the officer to help them.

Few days prior to that, some people actually heard there were screams and the sound of crying coming from the cave where they built the temple in later years. The locals believe that it was a warning sign to the villagers that they should go into hiding.

Nowadays, quite a lot of believers came to this temple to pray for 4d numbers and lottery numbers, quite a large number of people gain a fortune out of it, I think the temple's renovations are funded by some of the people who strike a fortune.

A visit to Broga Hill

Woke up at 6:15am on Saturday to pay a visit at Broga Hill. The trails are not so challenging compare to Gunung Irau, there are some parts that need to be careful though cuz it is slippery. Reached there around 8:30am and you already see a lot of people are climbing downhill instead of going up.
I have no idea how long it takes to reach the top. The hill looks very nice when you keep on passing hill over hill.
One of my favourite shots, all the photos are unedited, I think this one will look better if I edit it abit.

Love this one too!

I kinda love this photo, too bad got a few passer-by.

The trail to the top

Love the color of the grasses.

Rendezvous at Rendezvous Hotel

Last week I went to Singapore to attend some regional meeting, well, everytime I travel to Singapore, I am very curious to find out what kind of hotel that I will be staying, it is either 4 or 5 stars. I rarely enjoy such luxury from my ex company.

Ok, here I am, Rendezvous at Rendezvous Hotel. I think it is a 3.5 -4 stars hotel in Singapore standard. Well, let's check it out, I am staying in the 'Club Room', small upgrade from the Deluxe Room. When I open the door, I notice that the room is not very big, but it was perfectly ok for one person.
The matress is quite good, thick and a bit on the hard side, which fits my liking. Extra pillows for you to hug and sleep, something I really need to fall asleep...

Got a 32 inch LCD TV, phone, writing desk. Corp rate 160SGD++ per night inclusive of internet. Not a bad deal!

There is another piece of mirror to make the room looks more spacious. Of course, I bet some couples enjoy the extra mirror too.

The bathroom with some trendy mosaic surface, not the more pricey glass mosaic but it looks totally ok.

Lotion, shampoo, conditioner are from 'Chopard', I thought Chopard make watches only, never know they venture into side business too. May be this is not the 'Chopard' that I thought.

From the little stamp on the toilet paper, you can feel that the hotel pay attention to little details, not only it is properly folded like most hotel did; they also put a stamp on it.The toilet bowl is using Toto brand, which is a well known toilet bowl manufacturer. By looking at the toilet brand, I beh tahan only, suddenly I got an urge to 'bombard Tokyo'. Hmmm... so I sat on it..... wait a minute! Something is not right!? How come the toilet seat cover is so warm? It like the touch of our own body. It is warm and comfy. I stood up and read the above instruction properly this time other than the brand. Oh... how '山芭' I am! The toilet bowl comes with heated seat! Well, please don't blame me, because I rarely stays in expensive 4-5 stars hotel when I travel, this is the first time I sleep in a hotel that comes with a heated toilet seat. Then I started to wonder around, see if there is any other fancy stuff...

Then I came across this - You can wash your balls and your a$$hole at the sametime by pressing rear or front cleasing, the toilet bowl even comes with a dryer! Okay, then my curiosity comes, is the water cold or warm? I try to test out the toilet so I can put a detail report here. But unfortunately, I press the button few times, nothing happens, no water shooting out from the toilet bowl. May be the toilet bowl got sensor or something. When I finished my business, I used the traditional way for clean up. Argh... I just wipe my ass with Rendezvous hotel's logo...now I think back a bit, I should have try out the water cleansing feature. Anyway, it is time to take a shower.

Hmmm... When I look at the shower control, I was wondering where is the water dispenser? Usually there is one shower head and one water dispenser beneath the control. But I couldn't find one, so I try to play with the button, pull and push, see what will happen?... Suddenly I heard some sound of water running up....

Wah lah.... How could I miss another shower head on the ceiling that creates something like a rainfall! Interesting.... something I can't find it at home... :D
