Today I woke up at 6:05am to join the second year of Canon Photomarathon 2009. Ok? You might have a question? What the hell is 'Photomarathon'? Just to let you know that you don't have to run with your camera. What they will do is, they give you a few 'themes', you just use your creativity and skills to shoot some nice shots, winner gets to fly to Japan or you can get a 500D Canon DSLR. 
Wake up early in the morning is no easy task, look at this chap over here, may be he is coming from outstation or something...
The event is sponsored by Canon, so if you are a non-Canon user, then you will have to pay RM30 for it. You can choose either the DSLR category or the compact camera category. I had a Nikon DSLR and a Canon compact camera. BUT I signed up for the compact camera, reason? :
1. You saved RM30 by bringing in your compact camera. Anyway, I am lending my DSLR to my brother for his family trip to Perth.
2. If I bring my Nikon entry level D60, it was no match with other serious and also rich photographers that carry their zoom lens and camera body that cost more than Rm30k.
3. My DSLR skill sucks, with my entry level camera body and kit lens, how to match with those semi pros and pros out there? Is like you drive your Civic 2.0L to a car race and you notice on your left is a Mercedes CLK55 with AMG kit and your right is a BMW M3; you look at the front and you saw a Porsche Cayenne Turbo S blocking your way; and you saw the Audi S4 grille from your rear mirror.
4. If you are a Non-Canon user, do you think they will let you win the first prize? Isn't that telling your potential customers your product is not as good as your competitor?
5. Less compact cameras contestant, which translate to less competitors.
Ok... so today's theme is: 1. Splash! 2. RED and 3. Act of shooting. Well, below is what I have delivered... not really satisfy with it as I simply shoot some photos for the contest.

3. Shooting in progressActually, one of the criteria to rate the photos is based on your creativity, but I am not sure if my creativity can be used here. Basically I can shoot all three themes all-in-one inside the bathroom. But my colleague refused to volunteered, I told him that I promised I am going to censored his 'little brother' when I do the shooting. Basically, I can get the theme 'splash' when he is urinating, it is consider part of 'shooting in progress' too, the theme 'red' is the most tricky part, unless he wear a red underwear or his urine contained some blood in it, or else I won't be able to achieve this. LOL!

Not sure if the judges will accept your entry even if your colleague volunteer this is malaysia lerr..
That will depends how open minded and creative the judges are.
In fact, there is a auto 7 sec shot mode you can use...u can snap ur own urine and sexy red under...hahahhaa
Wahahah... I don't have red underwear la, but I do have pink ones. Cuz when my mom wash the Canon T shirt, the shirt dyed my white underwear into pink color!
